YourBestCreditBuilder is free to read. We keep it free through advertising (Google AdSense) and, for some links, affiliate commissions (none are active today) — never by letting anyone pay for a better ranking.
What an affiliate link means
Some links to cards, accounts and services may be affiliate links. If you open an account through one, the company may pay us, at no extra cost to you. Paid links are labelled on the page: a “Partner” tag with “Partner link · Affiliate disclosure” next to the button (or “Paid link”). It costs you nothing extra — your rate, terms, and price are exactly the same as if you’d gone to the issuer directly.
This is how most of the free credit-building resources on the internet are funded. We’re telling you plainly because you deserve to know where the money comes from.
Commissions never change the rankings
This is the line we won’t cross. Which cards we recommend, and the order they appear in, is decided by math — annual fees count most, then perks, rewards and welcome offers. We pull the numbers from our card database and rank by them; our methodology shows every formula.
No issuer can pay to be included in or ranked higher in our rankings. A card with a bigger commission does not move up. A card with no affiliate program at all can still sit at the top of the list if the numbers say it belongs there.
Advertising
Some pages show ads served by Google AdSense. Ads are always separate from our rankings, and advertisers have no say in what we write or which cards we recommend.
Nothing to buy
We don’t sell credit repair, audits or subscriptions. Our tools, including the credit roadmap, are free.
The free guides stay free
Our step-by-step guides — 609 dispute letters, goodwill letters, disputing your report, removing collections, and the rest — are free and always will be. You never have to buy anything or click an affiliate link to use them.
